Many of the artists in this showcase are coming from very personal spaces, using photography to connect with those who have come before us, and with what has been lost. Family plays a big part in many of these projects, often as a base camp from which to explore larger cultural experiences. Finally, there are multiple projects that explore how we gain power and identity through the face we offer the outside world.
